Paid $2,000 for two $100 dresses!
"This is a horrible company-steer clear. They make a habit of making customers sign away their rights in order to rent an article of clothing. Then, they seem to never receive the returned clothing on time, and they charge a $50 per day late fee up to whenever they decide to stop. This is a regular, predatory business practice of theirs. If you don't believe me, read reviews from other customers. "

Unlimited Service is Poor if you have no doorman
"In theory this sounds great and my friends who have a doorman or a reliable way of receiving the inconsistent deliveries are very happy. I don’t though so receiving the shipments has been a mess. When you create your account they don’t ask you what kind of building or home you live in to adjust delivery. Instead you just get messenger service in NYC. Sometimes they text and tell you when they’re coming wit a link, other times they don’t and just show up. If they could get in without a response from me it was sometimes left by my door or mailbox but other times I’d get no notification. Despite this, in the app it shows that the item is “at home.” Their customer service was largely unhelpful in trying to resolve these issues. The live chat constantly goes offline in the middle of the chat and email responses take several days. "

Great Concept/Great Customer Service/Experience OK
"I love the concept of Rent the Runway and loved my 3 experiences of renting cocktail to day dresses before I became an Unlimited member in January. I am finding I spend too much time looking and sizes have been a struggle. Clothes have been in good shape, but one purse was really tired looking."
"I enjoyed trying Rent The Runway for several months. I loved trying the latest styles. I am 59 and the trendy clothes are often too young looking for me. I probably received 6 items in a 3 month period that were too small even though they were my size. I chose one that was way too long. So I guess it is reallt important to read the reviews and not just go by the pictures. I received several items that were brand new that i loved. I also received a couple of items that appeared to have come out of a discarded clothes box! It was fun and I probably will do it again in the fall. The service was excellent in terms of ease and the shipping process."

Price should always be $99
"Great experience overall, and I would’ve kept the subscription if it were always $99 instead of $160. Cancellation was easy, but I still had some pieces in transit that I wanted to wear. But I was told I had to return everything by the 5th which was the end of my billing cycle. Since it took 7 days for me to get my first shipment after I confirmed it, I think they should allow a week’s grace period before they charge a fee after your cancellation date. In all, I received 11 peices for the $99, and 2 were unwearable. That will never be worth $160 to me. Love the company and the concept, and the ease of everything on the app and website. I’ll probably buy another month in the winter to check out the selection then. They don’t have a lot of summer workwear options for the Texas heat. "
High Hopes but in reality....
"I had high hopes for being an Unlimited Rent The Runway client. I really like the idea and concept however it seems there are still a lot of kinks and logistic issues the company needs to work out before they can give a five star experience to clients. My frustrations came from items that showed "available" I would pick for my shipment and then after waiting a day or two for it to ship I would get a notice (sometimes a text and sometimes an email I would have to happen to see) saying "an item you picked is not available" pick something else so we can ship your order. I would pick and then it would take another day or two for my shipment to go. Besides the frustration of available items not actually being available the slow processing time to get the shipments out to me are very frustrating. Paying the hefty fee for the monthly unlimited plan only makes sense if there is a quick turnaround so you can have a healthy volume of new clothes to wear each month. I had the service for 3 months but have now canceled because each shipment would have some type of negative experience. Majority of clothes once received where in good shape but two items received were damaged and unwearable."

"I forgot to enter my birthday code when I made my order. I asked the RTR chat person to refund me the difference. They said no...that was it. Not impressed, I spend a lot of money renting dresses that I have been lately just googling and buying used. I found that rtr dresses are usually last seasons surplus and I can find them and own them for the same price or cheaper on ebay/amazon. I will be telling my friends to do the same."

"I signed up for the RTR Unlimited service hoping that I would be able to save time and money. But a few weeks in, I am pretty dissatisfied with what I've tried on (the choices, sizes, looks) and feel I have spent a lot of time on the app and money on the subscription, with very little payoff. It would help if it were shaped into a more focused, helpful experience to replace the in-person shopping experience, which is what I was trying to avoid, but may have to resort to for the occasions I have coming up. RTR Unlimited probably works for some, but for particular people like me, it's been frustrating."
